The Ramp Mounting Rail comes in lengths of 4', 5', or 6'. I has two levels for mounting the ramps. The lover level is used to attach the ramps below the double doors when closed. The upper level is used on garage doors or when you need to ensure there are no obstructions when moving things like a low deck mower into the shed. The upper level brings the top of the ramp even with the top of the floor. All mounting hardware and drive bit is included.
The top piece is predrilled and used at the top of the ramp. The bottom piece is U shaped and wraps around the bottom of the ramp to provide protection from ground moisture and ties the wooden pieces together. Hardware and drive bit is included with each kit. One kit per ramp.
Pressure treated lumber is recommended for the DIY Kits. 2x6 is the most commonly used size for these ramps. You will also need 2x4 cleats on the bottom side of the ramps to tie all the pieces together for strength. Cleats on a 48" are every 16" between the top and bottom. On 60" ramps the cleats are every 20". On ramps longer than 60" it is recommended to place cleats every 20" and add a support under the center of the ramp.
